Grab a cart: Downtown Worcester is set to get a new grocery store. Felicio Lana, the owner of @TheCommon, the building formerly known as the Midtown Mall, said the new store will be called Market 22 and will be found on the first floor of the building along Front Street. He said the store space is between 6,000 and 7,000 square feet. He would not name the owner but says the person owns 14 other grocery stores. Lana said that the store will open sometime in the next 60 days.

The business has been in the Hebert family for more than 100 years, and now Colonial Candies in Bolton is on the market. The Hebert family previously owned both Hebert's Candy Mansion on Hartford Turnpike in Shrewsbury and Colonial Candies, located on Sugar Road. The property is listed by Sandra Naroian of the Naroian Group; the asking price is just under $3 million. The 11.8-acre property includes the 5,694-square-foot "white house" that houses Colonial Candies, a lower level with garage space and a loading area, as well as an apartment on the top floor.

The state facility will be in The Campus at Marlborough business park that now includes the offices of B.J.'s Wholesale Club.

The state has chosen a site in Marlborough for a new police crime lab, with Worcester losing out on a bid for the facility, according to the state Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance. The state police have plans for 180,000 to 200,000 square feet for a laboratory, evidence storage, office, records storage and meeting space. The proposal selected comes from Boston-based Greatland Realty Partners, which is expected to construct a building in The Campus at Marlborough business park, according to a spokesperson for the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance. The park includes offices of BJ's Wholesale Club.

Central Lab Partners at 124 W Boylston Street

A Worcester business and its owner have been indicted for alleged insurance fraud, according to the office of Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell. Central Lab Partners LLC, at 124 West Boylston St., and its owner, Cynthia Norton of West Boylston, allegedly participated in a kickback scheme. It's one of several providers involved in alleged fraud and kickback arrangements that resulted in nearly $8 million in false claims to MassHealth. Patient Care Solutions LLC, a Danvers-based home health agency, and Dr. Maria Batilo, a Falmouth-based physician, also participated in the alleged scheme, the indictment said.

An empty warehouse on Main Street in Clinton is being razed for new development.

New Wendy's and Starbucks locations are coming to Clinton. Needham-based company Clinton Real Estate Development LLC plans to build the businesses, along with two others, at 830-894 Main St. in Clinton after tearing down the abandoned warehouse that currently sits there. The plans were approved by the Clinton Planning Board back in November 2024, and according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records, the developer purchased the site for $1.45 million in a deal finalized on March 3. Originally an industrial mill building built in 1960, the abandoned Clinton warehouse was most recently home to Continental Cabinetry & Plumbing Supply.
