Lottery open for 22 affordable condos on Elm St. in Worcester

    WORCESTER — The City of Worcester has opened applications for 22 income-restricted homeownership units at 22 Elm Street, with eligible residents able to enter a lottery now through January 30th.

    The development includes 6 1-bedroom units priced at $230,488, 13 2-bedroom units for $258,596, and 3 3-bedroom units for $286,548. All units are restricted to households earning no more than 80% of the area median income, which ranges from $69,850 for a single person to $115,750 for a 6-person household. 2 of the 2-bedroom units are built to accommodate residents with mobility impairments.

    Applicants must also meet a $155,000 maximum asset limit, excluding retirement accounts but including real estate holdings.

    Applications are available online, by mail, email, or in person at the Worcester Public Library’s main branch. An informational session will be held virtually on December 17th, though attendance is not required.

    Completed applications must be submitted electronically or postmarked by January 30th. Winners will be selected by lottery, with certain preferences and restrictions applying.
