Animal Rescue League waiving adoption fees for dogs this week

  • WORCESTER — The Worcester Animal Rescue League is joining forces with several other animal shelters across Massachusetts in a statewide effort to find homes for dogs. As part of this initiative, W.A.R.L. will waive adoption fees for all dogs one year and older from August 19th through 25th.

This collaboration, dubbed the "Fee-Waived Adoptathon," includes participation from MSPCA-Angell, Dakin Humane Society, Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center, and Berkshire Humane Society.

While adoption fees are being waived, all regular adoption processes and procedures will still apply.

Potential adopters are encouraged to visit the W.A.R.L. website to see available dogs. Those interested in meeting a dog are asked to complete an adoption inquiry form online. Once submitted, a member of the W.A.R.L. team will reach out to arrange a meeting.

"Each participating shelter has varying open hours and procedures, so we advise prospective adopters to check with individual shelters for specific details," WARL said in a Facebook post.
