From left, Julee and Paula Greenlaw (Roney Funeral Home)
GRAFTON — A Grafton family is mourning the deaths of a daughter and mother who died less than 2 weeks apart following lengthy illnesses.
Julee Greenlaw, 56, died at home on June 5th.
Her mother, Paula M. (Lucas) Greenlaw, 77, died June 18th.
Julee Greenlaw was born in Winchester and lived throughout her life in Grafton, while also spending time in Rhode Island, where family said she found happiness near the ocean.
She worked for several years in banking and was remembered for her humor, warmth and ability to connect with people. She loved animals, especially her cats, and often helped family and friends by pet sitting. Her family said she was strengthened by her faith during her illness.
Paula Greenlaw leaves her husband, Peter Greenlaw; her daughter, Stacey Pender; her son, Andrew Greenlaw; 5 grandchildren; and several siblings. She was predeceased by her brother, Bob Lucas.
Paula was born in Medford and had roots in Somerville and North Reading. She worked in interior design and later at Ford Motor Credit. Her family said she prized time with her children and grandchildren, enjoyed camping trips to Old Orchard Beach in Maine and was always ready for a card game. She also taught Bible study groups.
A funeral service for Julee Greenlaw was held recently at Holden Chapel in Holden. A service celebrating Paula Greenlaw’s life is scheduled for 11 a.m. today — Friday, June 26th — at the Mill Church, 45 River St., Millbury.
Books of Memories for both women are available through Roney Funeral Home.
