In an extraordinary twist of fate, Joshua Chunis of Milford became the latest millionaire in the state, thanks to a simple act of kindness towards his wife.
While filling up her car with gas in Worcester, Chunis decided to purchase a $20 instant ticket from the Massachusetts State Lottery's “$10,000,000 Lucky Bucks” game. Little did he know, this spontaneous decision would lead to a windfall of $1 million.
Chunis bought the lucky ticket at the Sunoco A Plus at 527 Southwest Cutoff. The store is also celebrating, as it will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Opting for a one-time payment, Chunis will get $650,000 before taxes. Chunis has already earmarked some of his winnings for home improvements, planning to channel his newfound wealth into making their house a better place to live.
