WORCESTER — Jamshid Shadfar of Worcester has won a $1 million prize in the Mass. State Lottery’s “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” instant ticket game, the Lottery announced Thursday.
Shadfar chose the cash option, receiving a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.
He told Lottery officials he plans to put the winnings toward retirement.
The winning ticket was purchased at Value Mart, 50 Hamilton St. in Worcester. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
