Former top lottery seller in Worcester sells another $1M winner

  • WORCESTER — A $1 million prize has been claimed on a ticket sold at a familiar lucky location in Worcester.

The Peter Quill Trust of Quincy has claimed a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Bonus Money” instant ticket game. The trust, represented by trustee David Spillane, chose a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. Spillane said the winner plans to use the money to buy their first home.

The winning ticket was purchased at G and M Grocery, 504 Cambridge St., which will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

The convenience store is no stranger to lottery success — it was recognized in 2019 for selling more lottery tickets than any other store in Worcester, with nearly $2.5 million in sales, according to State Lottery data.

Lottery officials said prizes of $1 million are among the top awards in the “$4,000,000 Bonus Money” game.
