Mass State Lottery
A Shrewsbury woman who won a $1 million prize in the Mass. State Lottery says she plans to invest her winnings and purchase a new home.
Colleen Sweet won the prize playing the Lottery’s “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” instant ticket game, lottery officials said. Sweet selected the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.
Sweet said she intends to use the money to make long-term investments and buy a new home.
The winning ticket was purchased at Turnpike Liquors, located at 166 Boston Road in Shrewsbury. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket, according to the Lottery.
The “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” game features multiple top prizes, including $2 million awards paid out over time or as a reduced cash option.
