Popular Worcester restaurant broken into over weekend

  • Maddi’s Cookery and TapHouse, a popular Worcester restaurant in the Canal District, was broken into overnight Saturday.

Shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday, the restaurant at 64 Water Street posted on Facebook, “We were broken into last night, but that won’t stop us from serving brunch today!” Included in the post was a photo that read, “Can’t Stop Us”.

Later on Sunday, Maddi’s posted a photo of some of the damage, a smashed patio door and a cash register on the ground.

In the post, Maddi’s struck a defiant tone, writing: “I guess we need a sign on the outside as well advising the patio door is NOT the new 3am entrance!!! If you needed money I think every small Bussiness is hiring. Feel free to earn  money the old fashion way like the rest of us. So sad… but like everything else, the beat goes on and so do we!”

No word if anything was stolen.
