Worcester’s newest restaurant opens

  • Worcester’s newest restaurant opened for business on Sunday, according to its sister restaurant.

    The District Wood Fired Kitchen opened at 90 Harding Street in Worcester, according to a Facebook post by Off The Rails.

    The District replaces the longtime Canal District favorite Compass Tavern.

    Compass Tavern closed in February as owner Dave Domenick sold to Cliff Rucker after owning the tavern for 7 years, according to an article on MassLive.

    The property has been undergoing $500,000 in renovations, the article stated.

    The District offers a number of flavors of chicken tenders, pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven, hand-cut fries,  sandwiches and entrees.
