A legendary Worcester eatery debuted its new food truck over the weekend.
George's Coney Island officially launched its food truck at Applefest at Wachusett Mountain, according to a video posted on Facebook on Friday.
"We’re so happy to announce that our food truck is up and running!" the post reads. "We’ll be premiering Coney Island’s new kitchen on wheels at Applefest at Wachusett Mountain Saturday & Sunday (October 22 & 23, 2022)! 11 am to 5 pm each day."
In the minute-long video, Solon Kelleher said the move came after George's received "countless questions about weddings and parties and sporting events and all these catering things that we really couldn't do unless we had one of these big kitchens on wheels. So we finally decided it was time to do it, about a year and a half ago."
The food truck is just the latest expansion of the Coney Island brand. In 2021, it opened a stand at Polar Park, where it serves its trademark hot dogs during WooSox games.
