WORCESTER — After years of serving authentic Italian cuisine to the Worcester community, Russo Italian Restaurant will be closing its doors on October 26th, according to an announcement made by owner Ed Russo on social media Sunday.
In a heartfelt post, Russo expressed his gratitude to patrons and staff, while explaining the emotional decision not to renew the restaurant's lease. "It’s a difficult and emotional decision to say goodbye, one that was not made easily," Russo wrote.
Russo Italian Restaurant, which has become a beloved staple in Worcester, was known for serving traditional family recipes passed down from Russo’s grandparents. Over the years, the restaurant hosted countless events, from birthday parties and wedding receptions to celebrations of life and Sunday family dinners.
Russo also took the opportunity to thank his loyal staff, stating, "Your loyalty and service will never be forgotten."
The final dinner service will take place on October 26th, marking the end of an era for the local dining scene.
“Grazie (Thank you)… Arrivederci (Goodbye)… and Amore a Tutti (Love to All)!” Russo concluded his message.
