Popular local restaurant changes hands

  • New owner hires 2 former managers of 111 Chophouse

WEST BOYLSTON — Table Twelve, a popular neighborhood restaurant on Route 12, has officially changed ownership and is now part of the newly formed Byrnes Restaurant Group.

Michael Byrnes, the new owner, has brought on 2 longtime 111 Chophouse veterans to lead the transition: Griffin Wesson, who will serve as chief operating officer, and Malcolm Chumsae, the new general manager. The move marks Byrnes Restaurant Group’s first acquisition and the beginning of its expansion into the hospitality industry.

Wesson and Chumsae each bring 8 years of experience from Worcester’s upscale 111 Chophouse, according to a January article in The Item. Wesson managed operations for the last 3 years and Chumsae served as bar manager for 5.

“We specifically targeted T12 for our first acquisition because of its outstanding staff, strong community presence, and unbeatable location,” Wesson said in a statement. “The foundation is already solid—it’s our goal to build on that in a meaningful way.”

The group emphasized that no major changes are planned for the restaurant, which will continue to operate under the Table Twelve name and retain its current staff.

“We’re not coming in to change what makes T12 great,” Chumsae said. “We’re here to enhance the guest experience through subtle upgrades, operational efficiency, and expanded community outreach.”

In January, Wesson told the Clinton Item that the new management team had long admired the restaurant as frequent guests, and that they had “no intention to make big changes.”

Byrnes Restaurant Group says its philosophy centers on enhancement—not overhaul—aiming for a seamless transition while introducing new opportunities for growth and innovation.

“With T12 as the first of many, Byrnes Restaurant Group is just getting started,” the group said.
