Competitive eater to tackle Worcester restaurant mega challenge

  • Geoff Esper to try to finish a double 4-Parm Avalanche Challenge at Rosalina's Kitchen

One of the world's best competitive eaters is set to try to tackle Worcester most famous food challenge.

Oxford's Geoff Esper, who is ranked No. 3 by Major League Eating, will attempt to complete the 4-Parm Avalanche Challenge at Rosalina's Kitchen on Saturday.

But there's a twist: Esper will try to scarf down 2 of the massive meals in 30 minutes.

Each 4-Parm Avalanche Challenge consists of chicken parmagiana, eggplant parmagiana, meatballs and sausages topped with mozzarella and bacon, all served with Rosalina's famous Three Cheese Raviolis.

    That's a lot of food.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and is open to the public with a reservation.

Esper is fresh off a fourth place finish in the annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest on July Fourth.

In May, Esper downed an entire 28-inch pizza from Worcester favorite I Love Frankies. A video of that challenge has nearly 20,000 views on YouTube.
