Downtown Worcester eatery has fun with story of missing lizard

  • WORCESTER — Theatre Café in Downtown Worcester is serving up more than its signature great food this week: The eatery had some fun with the story of Goose, the massive wandering lizard whose disappearance has sparked wide interest and an intensive search recently.

The café posted on Facebook Wednesday: “Talk to me Goose! Boy he really gets around! Took a shift here at the Café today. Stop by and visit him before he moves along to his next adventure.”

A photo accompanying the post shows the 5-foot Water Monitor wearing a crisp chef’s hat and apron, gently presenting a towering cheeseburger to the camera.

Since vanishing from a home in Webster on July 18th, Goose has been the subject of a wide-ranging search.

With, dare we say, lizard tongue in cheek, until Goose moves on, patrons can visit him at Theatre Café, 529 Main Street.

His next destination remains a mystery but he may be heading back to Connecticut, where he was previously spotted.
