WORCESTER — The Boulevard Diner will get a turn in the national spotlight on Tuesday when a crew from CBS Mornings visits the longtime Worcester landmark to film a segment for the network’s upcoming celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
n a post to its Facebook page, the diner said CBS chose the Shrewsbury Street icon as part of a feature highlighting the role of classic American diners in the country’s cultural history.
Filming is scheduled to take place inside the restaurant from 9 a.m. to noon, and customers who don’t mind being on camera are invited to stop by and be part of the shoot.
The diner will close at 12:30 p.m. for interviews and additional filming before reopening at 5 p.m. Staff thanked patrons for their understanding and said they were “honored and overjoyed” to be included in the national broadcast.
The segment is expected to air at a later date as part of the network’s 250th-anniversary programming.
