Smokestack Urban Barbecue, 139 Green St., Worcester, announced in a Facebook post on Sunday morning that it will be closed in January and perhaps for longer.
In its post from 11:22 Sunday morning, the restaurant said new government restrictions on occupancy and "the levels of confidence in dining out" during the COVID-19 pandemic were the reasons for closing.
Calling it a "mini hibernation," the Canal District favorite said it will remain closed through January and will re-evaluate the decision in February.
