Pepi's Italian Restaurant will remain at its Franklin Street location for the month of August, delaying its move to Shrewsbury Street, according to a recent Facebook post.
"Due to some unfortunate setbacks, we will be opened on Franklin St for the month of August," the July 27 post reads.
On July 1, Pepe's posted on Facebook that July would be its last month at 274 Franklin St., Worcester. It is in the process of relocation to 181 Shrewsbury Street in Worcester.
"The time has come for us to start our month long celebration before we close for our big move!," reads the July 1 post, in part.
"Our final day on Franklin St will be Saturday July 31st."
Pepe's has planned a move to Shrewsbury Street as long ago as 2019.
According to an article in Worcester Business Journal, the first planned new home for the restaurant was 181 Shrewsbury St., which was formerly used as a parking lot for La Scala Italian Restaurant. That building has been built and is being marketed for lease.
179 Shrewsbury St. will be the new home of Pepe's Italian Restaurant
In March 2021, the restaurant announced the move to 179 Shrewsbury Street, according to an article on MassLive. That location was formerly the home of Arthur Manzi & Sons Funeral Home.
