West Boylston convenience store sells $1 million lottery ticket

  • A West Boylston convenience store recently sold a $1 million scratch ticket to a man from Fitchburg.

    Thomas Cunningham of Fitchburg won $1 million on the lottery’s “The Fastest Road to $1 Million” instant ticket game.

    He bought the ticket at Wachusett Farms, 106 Worcester Road (at routes 12 and 140). The store was previously a Honey Farms.

    Cunningham chose the cash option for his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).  He told the lottery that he plans on using a portion of his winnings to buy a new car.

    The store will get $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
