AUBURN — A 22-year-old man from Oxford has been sentenced to 5-7 years in state prison following his arrest by the Auburn Police Department for gun possession, Auburn police reported in a recent social media post.

Kyle Johnson, of Federal Hill Road in Oxford, was apprehended on February 27th, 2023, after a motor vehicle stop near Home Depot by officers Anthony Donahue and Alex Myers. During the stop, Johnson was discovered to be in possession of a gun.

At the time of his arrest, Johnson was already on probation for previous gun offenses and was prohibited from legally possessing guns. This violation led to his immediate custody for multiple gun offenses.

Following an indictment by a Worcester County Grand Jury, Johnson was sentenced earlier this week. The Auburn Police Department expressed gratitude to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office for its dedication to prosecuting the case.

"We would like to extend our thanks to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office for their commitment to prosecuting this case, and to our Officers who continue to serve their community with pride," stated a representative of the Auburn Police Department.
