Central Tree Middle School hosts live Q&A with ISS astronauts

  • RUTLAND — In an event that's truly out of this world, Central Tree Middle School has been selected for a stellar opportunity to connect directly with astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

The school is set to host a live streamed Question and Answer (Q&A) session with 2 members of the Expedition 70 crew, bringing space exploration right into their classroom. The Q&A will run from 1:50 to 2:10 Friday.

NASA astronaut Loral O'Hara and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Andreas Mogensen will be on the other end of the line, orbiting Earth, ready to answer questions from the school's eager students. This remarkable event allows 25 middle school students the unique chance to have their prerecorded questions answered live by the astronauts, providing an educational experience that is bound to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and maybe even astronauts.

The Q&A session is not just an educational opportunity but also a way for students to get a glimpse into the daily lives of astronauts and the research being conducted in space.

The live event is scheduled to be streamed on https://www.nasa.gov/nasatv/, allowing the wider community and space enthusiasts to tune in and share this extraordinary experience with the students. Central Tree Middle School extends a cordial invitation to the public to join in viewing this memorable exchange.
