RUTLAND — A collision between a fully loaded dump truck and a car at the intersection of Route 68 (East County Road) and Bushy Lane this morning resulted in 1 injury, according to the Rutland Police Department.
The driver of the car sustained injuries and was transported to UMass Medical Center by the Rutland Fire Department. The crash is currently under investigation by Officer Patenaude.
The Rutland Police Department shared a photo of the accident scene on social media, emphasizing the importance of safety and attentiveness on the road, particularly for new drivers. The department acknowledged the distressing nature of such images but stressed their educational purpose.
No further details about the condition of the injured driver or the cause of the collision were immediately available.
