PAXTON — Pleasant Street in Paxton has reopened following a late-night crash that left a person seriously injured, authorities said.
The accident occurred Wednesday night, prompting a response from the Paxton Fire Department, Leicester EMS paramedics, and multiple police agencies. Emergency responders transported a patient with serious injuries to UMass Memorial Medical Center's Trauma Center.
The roadway was closed for several hours but reopened at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, officials said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Paxton Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
"Thank you to Leicester EMS, Leicester Police Department, and Rutland Police Department for their assistance" the Paxton Fire Department said in a statement.
