6 arrested less than 10 days after wild Auburn shootout

    AUBURN — 6 people have been arrested, and 6 guns have been recovered following an investigation into a chaotic shootout earlier this month in Auburn, police said Wednesday.

    The arrests come less than 10 days after Auburn police responded to a report of shots fired at 65 Southbridge Street just before 2 a.m. on March 8. Officers arrived to find an adult male with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and numerous people fleeing the area, police said. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    Investigators recovered 60 spent shell casings of varying calibers, indicating multiple firearms had been used. Officers also found 2 handguns discarded outside the building and later recovered 4 additional firearms hidden inside.

    Arrests and Charges

    • Marta Molina, 39, of Oxford, was arrested March 8 and charged with possession of a firearm without a license to carry (LTC) and possession of ammunition without an LTC. She was released on $10,000 bail.
    • Felix Toledo-Caraballo, 21, of Worcester, was arrested March 14 and charged with possession of a firearm without an LTC (second offense), possession of ammunition without an LTC, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling. He has been deemed dangerous by the court and is being held in custody.
    • Alwin Cordero, 18, of Worcester, was arrested March 13 and charged with possession of a firearm without an LTC and possession of ammunition without an LTC. He is being held pending a dangerousness hearing.
    • Jariel Santos, 18, of Worcester, was arrested March 17 and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm without an LTC and possession of ammunition without an LTC. He is being held pending a dangerousness hearing.
    • A 16-year-old male was arrested March 16 and is facing charges of possession of a firearm without an LTC and possession of ammunition without an LTC. He is being held pending a dangerousness hearing.
    • A 17-year-old female turned herself in to the court on March 17 and faces the same charges as the 16-year-old. She is also being held pending a dangerousness hearing.

    Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.

    Auburn police credited their detectives and local law enforcement partners, including the Massachusetts State Police, for assisting with the arrests.
