Grafton High School (Facebook)
GRAFTON — Grafton High School was briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday morning as police investigated a report of a suspected dangerous weapon near school property, according to authorities.
On June 3rd,, the Grafton Police Department responded to the high school following concerns about a potential weapon. Working in coordination with school officials, police initiated a lockdown as a precautionary measure while they searched the area.
According to a statement from Police Chief Neil A. Minardi, the suspected weapon was eventually found off school grounds and was determined to pose no threat to the school or the wider community.
“We would like to thank the school administration and staff for their professionalism and assistance in bringing this situation to a close,” Minardi said in the department’s press release.
