Millbury police arrest 3 Worcester men in separate thefts

  • MILLBURY — 3 Worcester men were arrested in 2 unrelated incidents involving theft in Millbury, police said.

    On July 22nd, officers responded to a call from a resident who reported seeing 2 men inside his shed on Greenwood Street, allegedly taking tools. Police located the suspects nearby and identified them as Michael Kohlstrom, 34, and Bruce Monfreda, 66, both of Worcester.

    Police said the tools were found in the suspects’ possession. Kohlstrom and Monfreda were charged with breaking and entering into a building during the daytime with intent to commit a felony, larceny from a building, and conspiracy. Kohlstrom also had an outstanding warrant at the time of his arrest.

    In a separate incident on July 28th around 3:10 a.m., an officer spotted Evan Charbonneau, 32, of Worcester, near Route 20 and Greenwood Street. The officer recognized Charbonneau as a suspect in a previous theft and knew he had multiple outstanding warrants.

    When approached, Charbonneau allegedly fled toward the 7-Eleven in Worcester. After a brief foot chase and a struggle, officers from Millbury and Worcester police departments took him into custody.

    Charbonneau was arrested on the warrants and additionally charged with resisting arrest and possession of a Class A substance.
