RUTLAND — A Rutland man turned a $10 online lottery bet into a $50,000 prize.
Edward Brackett won the $50,000 prize while playing “The Lamp,” an online-only eInstant game available through Mass Lottery Online, according to the Lottery.
Brackett claimed his prize, before taxes, at the Lottery’s headquarters in Dorchester. After winning, Brackett immediately called his wife to share the news and celebrate with her.
Lottery prizes of $50,000 or more won through an online purchase must be claimed at the Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters.
Online lottery games are available to players who are at least 21 years old. Players must be physically located in Massachusetts when playing online or making a deposit to their account.
Players also must have a Mass Lottery Player Account, which can be created at masslottery.com or through the Mass Lottery mobile app.
