White Eagle Club in Worcester announces temporary capacity limitation
WORCESTER — The White Eagle Club on Green Street has announced a temporary reduction in its downstairs capacity to 62 patrons due to pending sprinkler system installations.
Following a year-long fundraising campaign, the club's Board Members disclosed in a recent Facebook post that they have been diligently drafting and gaining approval for the new system. As part of the installation process, there will be a temporary connection of water from the street to the building, slated for completion by early November.
The final designs for the sprinkler system are currently being fine-tuned, with bidding for the project expected by the end of the month or early next month. The anticipated cost for the sprinkler installation is estimated between $200,000 and $250,000. This vital safety measure will necessitate a brief closure of the club.
While the downstairs is limited in capacity, patrons can look forward to events being held upstairs. This includes the White Eagle Birthday Party on October 20th, featuring munchies, and a Halloween Party on October 28th, complete with a DJ and a costume contest.
Upon completion of the sprinkler system, the club is eager to revert to its usual capacity, reinstating its popular weekend entertainment, including DJs and live bands, downstairs.
As a 501c7 non-profit social club, the White Eagle Club emphasizes the invaluable importance of continued patronage, especially during these times of capacity restrictions. The club expressed its gratitude, stating, "It is you that helps us keep this club up, running, and such a success!"
