WORCESTER — A Worcester brewer's collaboration with a local strip club has apparently raised the ire of some.
Odd by Worcester Brewery reissued a social media post promoting 2 of its specialty beers after the original was taken down by Instagram for receiving hate-filled comments.
The brewery had announced the return of its fruited sours, "Sweaty & Betty’s," which are inspired by Blue Hawaiian cocktails and orange push-up pops, respectively. The beers are made in collaboration with local strip club Hurricane Betty's, a partnership that sparked the online backlash.
Despite the negativity, the brewery reaffirmed its support for Hurricane Betty's and the Worcester community.
"We understand that some of our content and beers might not be for everyone, and that’s OK," Odd by Worcester wrote in the post. The brewery urged followers to share the post and support local businesses.
The beers are available on draft, in mixed 4-packs, and as a special "Hurricane Hulk" beer slushie. The brewery invites patrons to visit and enjoy the unique brews.
"We Love You Worcester," the post concluded.
