Celebrations on Saturday planned for two Worcester institutions

    UPDATE: The White Eagle has postponed its re-opening. A Facebook post at 9:50 this morning reads: "We unfortunately have to POSTPONE our re-opening this weekend. This includes the soft opening that was scheduled for tonight. We will be back up and running in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!"

    D'Errico's Market opens second location; White Eagle reopening postponed

    Two Worcester institutions, who have been in Worcester for a combined 156 years, were scheduled to have celebrations tomorrow.

    D'Errico's Market, the family owned meat market and deli that opened in 1947, will hold a grand opening for its second location in the city.

    D'Errico's Meat & Deli Co. will open at 9 a.m. tomorrow at 127 Cambridge St. 

    Regular hours will be 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday-Monday, and closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

    Back closer to downtown, The White Eagle, the Polish Club of Worcester, had planned to reopen tomorrow after being closed for four months because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    The White Eagle, which opened in 1937, had planned a Grand Re-Opening beginning at noon tomorrow. 

    Music will be provided 6-9 p.m. 

     

    When it does reopen. the White Eagle will have patio dining and a limited menu. 

    Once reopened, the White Eagle's normal hours will be 3-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, noon-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and noon-9 p.m. Sunday.
