A popular Worcester eatery closed since December is eyeing a move downtown.

Lucky's Café, which had operated since 1991 at North Works on Grove Street, closed on December 19th after its landlord did not renew its lease, according to an article in the Telegram & Gazette.

Co-owners Peter Armer and Patti Hallinan told the T&G would look for a new location, according to the same article.

It appears that Lucky’s got … lucky.

Lucky’s Café is applying for common victualer license to operate at 10 Chestnut Street in Downtown Worcester, according to the agenda for the Worcester License Commission’s next meeting, on Thursday morning.

10 Chestnut Place is otherwise known as One Chestnut Place, the home of Fallon Health.

In recent days, Lucky’s teased its Facebook fans with photos from 10 Chestnut.

On March 1st, Lucky’s posted a photo of the statue Boy with a Dolphin, which is outside 10 Chestnut.

Two days later, Lucky’s posted a photo inside the cafe space.

And, finally, shortly after 11:30 a.m. Monday, Lucky’s posted a photo from Pearl Street near the stairway to 10 Chestnut.

The exact hours of operation are not known, but Lucky’s application would allow them to be open 7 a.m.-11 p.m. 7 days a week.

The License Commission meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday.
