Taste Great Cakes (Facebook)
WORCESTER — A Worcester bakery known for its colorful confections is putting the icing on the cake of a long-standing cause.
Taste Great Cakes at 98 Hamilton St. is marking what it calls a celebratory moment in the Karen Read case with themed desserts available for a limited time.
The bakery, which has publicly supported Read since early in the high-profile legal saga, announced the final run of its “Free Karen Read” cakes, cookies and cupcakes on social media Friday.
“Fridays are all about celebrating the end of the week and the tough battles we've won together,” the post read. “Let’s make this weekend special!”
Photos accompanying the post show cakes decorated with the message “Karen Read is Free.”
Taste Great Cakes invited customers to stop by and pick up themed treats to celebrate her not guilty verdicts, which it described as “an amazing victory.”
The shop is open 10 to 2 on Sunday.
