Brattle Stop pizza reopens in new home, market to reopen soon

  • Brattle Stop Pizza reopened yesterday.

WORCESTER — A popular neighborhood pizza place has reopened in its new, modern home.

Brattle Stop Pizza opened yesterday. The pizza place and its sister market closed its old location, in the historic Lora B. Hoit House at 1 Brattle Street, on February 6th. 6 weeks and 1 day later, the pizza place is back. Both businesses, staples of the Indian Hill neighborhood, have moved into a new building directly behind the old one.

The market has not reopened yet. It will soon, possibly as early as next week.

News of the opening has delighted the pizza shop's fans on Facebook.

"Welcome back!! It was a wonderful treat to be back!," read one comment. "Woohoo! We’ve missed you!," read another.

A late afternoon visit yesterday revealed a much larger, well lighted space and what appears to be new equipment. Staff mingled with well-wishing customers as they prepared for the dinner rush.

The move is the latest step in a journey that began in early 2020 when owners announced their desire to demolish the old building and start anew.

Brattle Stop Pizza opens at 10 a.m. daily, and can be reached by phone at (508) 853-1442.
