When Crown Bakery closed permanently in June, longtime customers of the iconic Worcester bakery were united in their fond remembrance of the renowned Swedish treats.
Those who feared that their favorite rolls were gone forever can rest a bit easier today.

In social media posts on Monday, the Bean Counter Bakery Cafe, which earlier this year opened a new location on Grove Street, announced that the original owner of Crown Bakery has given Bean Counter recipes to Swedish Coffee Ring, Swedish Coffee Roll and their Swedish Coffee Bun.

"Having worked alongside them, baking for the Worcester community for many many years, we were incredibly saddened by this closing," the post read. "We know we and the Worcester community will always miss them and remember Crown Bakery fondly.
"Last week, the original owner Jon and their head-baker Lenny came over to pass down the recipes for their famous Swedish Coffee Ring, Swedish Coffee Roll and their Swedish Coffee Buns. Doug, Lenny and Jon spent the whole day working together, passing down these heritage recipes.
"We are incredibly honored and thankful to be able to continue Crown Bakery’s legacy and provide the Woo with their delectable Swedish desserts.
"Crown Bakery’s story and sweets will live on ❤️."
You may have to a wait a bit, though. In an update, the Bean Counter reported that they hopes to be baking the Crown treats as early as next week after "restructuring our baking spaces to accommodate these amazing treats."
