Holden spring chipping, composting begins Saturday

  • The town of Holden's spring brush chipping and composting program begins Saturday, April 22nd.

    In addition, open brush burning permits are available through May 1st.

    COMPOSTING GUIDELINES

    Leaves and Grass Clippings will be accepted at the Composting Facility located at the site of the former landfill at 560 River St. for HOLDEN RESIDENTS ONLY.

    BRUSH CHIPPING will be done at ADAMS ROAD GARAGE ONLY due to the Asian Longhorn Beetle regulated area.

    Commercial loads will not be accepted. Only cars, pickup trucks and small trailers will be allowed.

    Proof of residency will be required.

    Spring Days of Operation, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

    Saturday, May 6th

    Saturday, May 13th

    Saturday, May 20th

    Please take notice: The operation may cease sooner due to weather or capacity of the site.
