HOLDEN — 2 Holden residents have been arrested this year and charged in separate cases linked to the possession and distribution of child pornography, according to the Holden Police Department.
Cailan Bennett, 39, has been charged with 3 counts of possession of child pornography, while James Parker, 72, faces charges of both possession and distribution of child pornography. These arrests stem from investigations initiated by the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
The Holden Police Department, in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crimes unit, received tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) earlier this year. The tips led to thorough investigations conducted by local detectives.
Both cases highlight the ongoing efforts by the ICAC task force to combat the exploitation of children online. The Holden Police Department emphasized their commitment to protecting vulnerable populations and ensuring that those involved in such crimes are held accountable.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information related to these cases to contact local law enforcement.
