WORCESTER — The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts announced its 2024-25 Broadway Series lineup, promising a season of award-winning musicals that celebrate music legends, explore personal and collective stories and showcase theatrical excellence.
The season opens with "TINA – The Tina Turner Musical" (October 18th to 20th), a stirring tribute to the resilience and talent of Tina Turner. The musical chronicles Turner’s rise from adversity to become a global superstar, known affectionately as the Queen of Rock n' Roll.
Following in November (November 8th to 10th), "Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations" brings the remarkable journey of the iconic Motown group from Detroit streets to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The show has been lauded for its electrifying performances and choreography, capturing the essence of the Temptations' enduring legacy. It was nominated for 12 Tony Awards.
"Dear Evan Hansen" takes the stage January 10th to 12th, offering a deep dive into the complexities of social connectivity in the modern age. The Tony and Grammy-winning musical has been acclaimed for its insightful exploration of adolescence, belonging, and the power of forgiveness in the era of social media.
February's highlight is "The Cher Show" (February 14th to 16th), a vibrant journey through the life of Cher, from her beginnings to her status as a music and fashion icon. The production dazzles with its portrayal of Cher's indomitable spirit and legendary career.
April will feature a to-be-announced National Broadway Tour (April 4th to 6th, 2025), promising a mix of comedy, mystery, and nostalgia. Following closely, "Come From Away" (April 11th to 13th, 2025) concludes the season with a powerful narrative of humanity and compassion following the events of 9/11, based on the true story of a small Canadian town that welcomed stranded travelers.
Subscriptions for the 2024-25 Broadway Series at The Hanover Theatre are now available, with patrons encouraged to secure their seats early for what promises to be an unforgettable season of storytelling and spectacle.
