Hallmark Christmas movie shot in area premieres Saturday

  • A Hallmark Christmas movie filmed locally will premiere at 8 p.m. Saturday on the Hallmark Channel.

"A Very Vermont Christmas" was filmed this spring at a number of locations in Central Mass., including Wachusett Mountain Ski Area and Seven Saws Brewing in Holden.

In the film, a local champion skier and Vermont brew master teams up with an unlikely match to create a seasonal microbrew in order to save her family’s business by Christmas, according to a release.

The movie stars Katie Leclerc and and Ryan McPartlin.

The film is directed by John Stimpson, who also wrote and directed "Christmas on ice," a 2020 Hallmark movie that was shot in Worcester.

"It’s Christmastime in a Vermont ski town where Joy, a young brew master and local champion skier, runs her family's classic ski pub, Mogul Joe’s, with her mother, Mary," the synopsis reads. "Times have been tough for Mogul Joe’s since Joy’s father passed away and she wonders how they’re going to pay their bills this Christmas.

"One day Joy’s ex boyfriend Greg wanders in and tells them about the new Brew-Ski competition he’s holding at his rival establishment, Frosty’s. Joy and Mary are intrigued as winning the competition may be the Christmas miracle they are looking for."
