WORCESTER — O'Connor's Restaurant and Bar announced Wednesday afternoon that it will resume regular hours and public dining beginning tomorrow, Thursday, May 1st, after a temporary shift to accommodating only large parties due to staffing shortages.
"Whether you're craving one of our famous dishes or just a pint with friends, we've got you covered," the restaurant said in its now-deleted announcement. The establishment will operate during its usual business hours from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The restaurant also announced live music featuring local artist Cory Knapp from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on reopening day, inviting guests to enjoy great tunes alongside their meals or drinks at the bar.
From Saturday: Legendary Worcester restaurant O'Connor's halts public dining
Previously, O'Connor's had limited its service to private events and large group bookings, citing the need to maintain its high service standards amid staffing shortages. The restaurant, a local favorite known for Irish-American cuisine, emphasized in earlier statements that its temporary closure to the general public was solely due to staffing and not indicative of broader operational issues.
Owned since July 2022 by restaurateurs Dennis and Jennifer Maxwell and their son Kyle, O'Connor's originally opened in 1989 by Brendan and Claire O’Connor shortly after emigrating from Limerick, Ireland. The restaurant has since maintained a strong community presence, renowned for both its hospitality and quality dining experience.
