RUTLAND — A severe traffic accident disrupted the early morning calm on Pleasantdale Road on Tuesday when a Nissan pickup truck collided head-on with a plow truck.
According to the Rutland Police Department, the crash occurred as the Nissan, traveling northbound, lost control on the icy road, veering into the opposite lane.
The incident, which unfolded amidst hazardous road conditions, prompted a swift response from emergency services. The driver and passenger of the Nissan, whose identities have not been disclosed, were both transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center. Their conditions are currently unknown, but they were under the care of the Rutland Fire Department during the transport.
The Rutland Police Department is now investigating the crash, focusing on the icy conditions as a key factor.
