Worcester - In the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 25th, Worcester police officers were called to the 7-11 at 409 Park Ave. for a report of an unarmed robbery. According to reports, a man identified as 40-year-old William Cryer of Worcester had stolen from the store earlier in the night and had returned.
Upon arrival, officers were told that Cryer had entered the store and began threatening the clerk. The suspect then attacked the clerk, attempted to steal several items, and threatened to kill another witness before leaving the store.
Police officers located Cryer on Park Ave. and placed him under arrest. He is facing charges of assault to rob, assault and battery, threatening to commit a crime (murder) and larceny under $1,200. The clerk was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Worcester Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward and contact them.
