Worcester woman's quick thinking leads to closet creep's arrest

  • WORCESTER – A Millbury Street resident had an unexpected encounter on Saturday when she returned home to find a man hiding in her closet. The quick-thinking woman managed to snap a photo of the intruder before he fled, leading to his subsequent arrest.

According to Worcester Police Department reports, officers were dispatched to an apartment on Millbury Street at approximately 10:15 a.m. on June 3rd, following a residential break-in report. The homeowner, who wished to remain anonymous, reported damage to her door and a male intruder in her closet. The woman managed to snap a photograph of the suspect, who quickly fled the scene.

The photo was then distributed via department email as officers attempted to identify and locate the suspect.

Around 2:30 p.m., a patrolling officer in the Vernon Street area recognized the man from the distributed photo. The suspect, still wearing the same outfit as seen in the photograph, was identified as Jonathan Feliciano, 34.

Feliciano was promptly arrested and now faces charges of breaking and entering to commit a misdemeanor, vandalism, and trespassing. Police also discovered Feliciano was wanted on 2 outstanding warrants unrelated to the Millbury Street incident.
