WORCESTER — A teen was arrested in connection to a recent incident where a firearm was brandished during a verbal altercation in a grocery store parking lot, according to a release from the Worcester Police Department.
On the morning of Saturday, October 14th, officers from the Worcester Police Department responded to a call from the Price Chopper on Park Ave. Witnesses reported two males in a newer model Kia SUV operating erratically. Following a verbal dispute with 2 individuals in the parking lot, the driver of the Kia allegedly revealed a handgun and threatened the witnesses.
Soon after, officers received a report about a stolen Kia SUV from Roxbury Street. The vehicle was later found and recovered the same day.
On Friday, October 20th, after a thorough investigation, Worcester detectives executed a search warrant at a South Harlem Street residence, linked to the incident. A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody at the address. He faces charges of receiving a stolen motor vehicle and has a warrant for 2 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Additionally, a Taser was found at the residence, leading to the arrest of 19-year-old Pharrel Smith. Smith is now charged with possession of a firearm without an F.I.D. card.
