Worcester police nab suspect in armed robbery of Flower Stop

  • WORCESTER — A month-long search by Worcester police concluded successfully with the arrest of a 35-year-old man, Tommie-Lee Goddard, for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery at a local flower shop.

    According to a Worcester Police Department release, on December 1st, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Worcester officers were called to the Flower Stop at 120 Stafford Street following a report of an armed robbery. According to the police report, a man, later identified as Goddard, allegedly demanded cash at knifepoint before fleeing the scene on foot. Officers were unable to locate the suspect at that time.

    Detectives launched a comprehensive follow-up investigation, which led to police applying for an arrest warrant against Goddard. The warrant charged him with armed robbery while masked, prompting authorities to issue a Be-On-The-Lookout alert.

    The breakthrough came on the evening of December 30th, around 5:30 p.m. Officers responded to reports of a disorderly person near 68 Stafford Street. Officers recognized Goddard and promptly arrested him on the outstanding armed robbery warrant.
