WORCESTER — Worcester Police Department's Crime Gun Intelligence Unit seized 2 guns and arrested 2 people during a patrol operation on Tuesday night.

At approximately 9 p.m., officers, including members of the Gang Unit and 2 A.T.F. agents, conducted a follow-up investigation related to a previous gunfire incident detected by ShotSpotter. The operation took place near Reservoir Street, where the prior shots were reported.

During the patrol, officers encountered 2 men who matched the descriptions of suspects from the earlier incident. Upon interaction, police observed suspicious behavior from 19-year-old Christopher Vazquez, who frequently checked his fanny pack. A frisk confirmed the presence of a loaded handgun inside Vazquez's fanny pack. The second suspect, a 17-year-old whose name has been withheld due to his minor status, was also found carrying a loaded firearm.

Neither suspect was licensed to carry firearms. Both were charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm, and possession of ammunition without an F.I.D. card. Additionally, Vazquez faces a charge for possessing a large capacity feeding device.
