WORCESTER — Worcester police arrested a woman Thursday afternoon following a large fight at Bennett Field Pool on Main Street, where she was found in possession of an illegal gun, authorities said in a release.
Officers were dispatched to the pool at approximately 2:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a brawl involving about 20 kids in the parking lot. Earlier that day, police had responded to a similar disturbance and had separated 2 groups.
During the second incident, officers were informed that a female suspect, later identified as Briana Henriquez, 20, of Whipple Street, was allegedly threatening individuals with a gun. Henriquez was found near Catalpa Street carrying a bag that contained a handgun with a defaced serial number, police said.
Henriquez, who does not have a license to carry guns, was arrested at the scene. She faces multiple charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, use of a firearm while committing a felony, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, improper storage of a high capacity firearm, and possession of ammunition without an F.I.D. card.
