WORCESTER — Worcester police are investigating a crash on Grove Street that left a scooter operator with serious injuries on Monday evening.
According to the Worcester Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 8:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving a scooter. Preliminary findings indicate that the scooter operator had stopped in the road to allow a family to cross at a crosswalk when a vehicle struck the scooter from behind.
The operator of the scooter was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. There were no other injuries reported. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
