W.P.D. arrests 2 in armed moped theft on Crystal Street

  • WORCESTER — 2 men were arrested Sunday evening after allegedly stealing a moped at gunpoint in Worcester, police said.

    Officers responded to Crystal Street shortly before 6:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a stolen vehicle, according to a release from the Worcester Police Department.

    Several victims told police that they were standing near a moped when 2 individuals wearing black ski masks approached them, brandished guns, and stole the moped.

    A short time later, officers located the suspects’ vehicle on Grand Street. Lucas Parent, 18, and Willie Watson, 21, were arrested, police said. The moped was recovered and returned to its owner.

    Both Parent and Watson face charges of armed and masked robbery and 7 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
