Preservation Worcester is going to party like it's 1899!
The nonprofit will hold a Gilded Age-themed gala 7 to 11 Saturday night. Think "Bridgerton" meets "Downton Abbey". Downtown Abbey, perhaps?
"A Flight of Fancy, A Contemporary Nod to the Gilded Age" will take place at Salisbury House, 61 Harvard Street in Worcester.

Preservation Worcester's mission is "to protect and revitalize the sites, structures, and neighborhoods of the City of Worcester that are significant to its diverse culture, history, and architecture."
According to Preservation Worcester, "While this soiree is inspired by the Gilded Age balls of Astors, Vanderbilts, and Salisburys, you do NOT need to go full Victorian.
"A Flight of Fancy is defined as an idea that is 'extremely imaginative' and 'impractical'; anything with some flair, flash and fun will fit right in!
"Come as a Bridgerton character, or as Dorian Gray. Or go Goth, or Viennese, or Venetian. Gowns and tuxes are great, but don’t be afraid to improvise.
"A few folks will likely be masquerading as fantastical figures, but also feel free to just be your own fabulous self!"
Tickets are $150 ($135 for Preservation Worcester members). 24 Karat Sponsors are $200.
Tickets can be purchased here.
