WORCESTER — A man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested Thursday in Worcester, leading police to seize a cache of guns, including AR-platform rifles, and ammunition, authorities said.

Caleb Dayton, 20, was taken into custody after a Worcester officer working a detail on Vinson Street recognized him as having 4 outstanding warrants for charges including carjacking, larceny, breaking and entering and drug offenses, police said.

When Dayton returned to a Vinson Street residence around 11:30 a.m., officers approached him. Police said Dayton tried to enter the home and lock the door but was apprehended in the doorway. A Tec-9 firearm was reportedly found on him, and investigators determined he lacked a license to carry firearms.

Officers later obtained a search warrant for the residence, uncovering multiple AR-platform rifles, a shotgun, a handgun, and ammunition. Dayton faces numerous charges, including unlawful possession of firearms, improper firearm storage and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
